As you may have noticed, I’ve done a little spring cleaning and redesigned the blog. I was inspired after reading a few entries at More Minimal, and decided that a cleaner, less cluttered blog made for a more reader-friendly experience. “You don’t have to have everything on the front page”, I told myself sternly. I think this basic template works better in more browsers as well. So there you have it – the easier-to-read, more minimalist, Words & Other Things.
Given the large number of US based blogs in my reading list, I’ve read all sorts of exclamations of excitement today about the regime change in the US (and I loved this entry of Plain Jane’s). It’s rather exciting news for those of us in the rest of the world, too. I’ll be interested to see if or how this affects the US’s “plan” for Iraq, and whether they might see about released those Australians (and everyone else, for that matter) whom they’ve been holding for however many years in Guantanamo Bay without trial or, as far as I know, charges.
I will be so glad when this week is over. My boss unexpectedly decided to go on a holiday, mid-week – which I suppose he’s entitled to do, but I’ve been feeling completely out of my depth ever since, given that I’m now being supervised by partners whom I’ve previously barely spoken to. So I’m tense and paranoid and not particularly enjoying work at the moment. Come on Father Time, speed it up a bit for me.

Hullo! I like your new design - the red really matches the warm colours of your userpic.
Um, just one request? Your link to my blog don’t work no more - try http://liadlaith.livejournal.com/

Umm . . . scratch that last comment. For some reason, despite the fact that I WASN’T CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET, Livejournal allowed me to RELOAD my friends page and Blogger allowed me to POST A COMMENT. Your link works fine - although, the name of my lj is now “Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet”.

Oooh, Cassie. You must have some sort of broadband connection IN YOUR BRAIN. Creepy!

And it’s a pity the colours match the user-pic - I was just thinking that it was time for a change!

Nice clean layout, very readable font; I like it.
I see you are also following the 11 words per line guideline.

I like the clean lines and nice feel to the new space. It’s very open.
And I’m with you on the not liking work at the moment. It’s been a crazy few weeks. I’m ready for a break that won’t be happening any time soon.

Thanks Mikefitz - I hadn’t heard of the 11 words per line thing, but tried it out with a wider column and it looked strange.
Great Jennifer - that’s the effect I wanted. Hope your work improves
Thank you Cat! The weekend was a great relief, and work is back to normal this week, thank goodness.
