1. I think I am allergic to coffee. Whenever I drink it, I… um, feel the need to visit the bathroom. And it’s not because it’s a diuretic.
2. Wasn’t that a delightful little revelation.
3. I have a new re-reading project for the year - the Chalet School books. I have discovered a lovely website that posts transcripts of the out-of-print volumes.
4. Sometime next week I should be receiving a new laptop from Dell - weeee! Our home desktop has been having dreadful overheating problems for months, and we finally decided to upgrade. We ended up choosing a laptop so that we can use our wireless network, and the desktop is still useable, for short periods of time at least (before it starts sounding an ear-piercing alarm). Dell may not be a terribly cool brand, but I couldn’t resist the cheapness of their online Outlet Store.

No, coffee makes you poop. Plenty of people drink it in the morning to stay regular. So, I think you’re safe.

I thought I was the only one who remembered the Chalet School books! I’ve bought a few from ebay but there are so many, I don’t think I’ll ever have them all…

Yup, coffee is better than bran that way.
Thank you for all the book talk you post here. I get so many wonderful new authors to try, which really helps because when I’m book shopping I tend to get overwhelmed and end up retreating to known favorites. ~LA

Having recently given up coffee, I’m finding that my green tea has that same effect on me. But at least I can sit still for the duration, if you know what I mean.

I’ve only read a few in the series. I started on The Wrong Chalet School and it’s still my favourite. I also like the Abbey series by Elsie J Oxenham.

PS: I don’t drink coffee and though Coke has far less caffeine, it still has enough to take me by surprise.

Ah! Thanks for all the interesting information about your bottoms on caffeine - I’ll forget the allergic thing, then
And so glad to see there’s other Chalet readers about there - I’ll do a post with links to transcripts. Thanks for the Abbey Girls tip, Hazel - nothing in the library, but I’m having a look on Ebay.

I *loved* the Chalet School books. I still have some, packed in a suitcase somewhere, resting in the darkness. Please share the link, I’d love to read again!
